THE PERFECT CHANCE FOR STUDENTS TO JUST CHILL
It’s only the start of the semester and things already feel heated. Is the syllabus really that long? How many quizzes did they say? It’s worth what percentage?!
Before you lose your cool, we’re giving you and the rest of students attending the University of Regina the chance to chill and forget about class for a bit with Winter Welcome 2021! From January 19th to 22nd, URSU is bringing a mix of online events to entertain and engage students aka distract them from that cumbersome course load. If you’re enrolled at the U of R or its Federated Colleges, you can enjoy a digital campus experience from your Students’ Union without stepping out of your house.
It’s not all fun and games though even though there will most definitely be fun and games. We’ve lined up a variety of programming to keep you sharp at the start of the semester. We kick it off with a toe kick of sorts as we’ve booked Iceville at Mosaic Stadium so students can skate off the rust on Saskatchewan’s largest rink. On Wednesday, Jan. 20th, you can work on your investigation and research skills with a few rounds of Among Us with Amir Said, URSU VP External. Then on Thursday, Jan. 21st, you can stretch your mental muscles with Smarty Pints Trivia on Twitch starting at 7 pm. There’s also the chance to take in a wild walkthrough on the importance of balance as URSU President Gurjinder Singh Lehal plays Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout starting at 8 pm also on Twitch. For the final day we’ll be turning Netflix into FrightFlix with our Welcome Week 2021 Watch Party where you vote on the scary movie you want to see ahead of time and then scream your head off come showtime, which is 8 pm on Jan. 22nd.
Oh, and we’ll be giving away $1000 worth of tuition so don’t miss the chance to take a chunk out of the cost of classes!

Winter Welcome 2021 online events will be on Twitch but make sure you sign in through UniVerse (universe.ursu.ca) and register for the events to get reminders. Remember, you can sign up quickly and easily with your UofR credentials. All events are free for registered students of the University of Regina and its Federated Colleges. The tuition raffle is only open to registered students of the University of Regina, or its Federated Colleges, and URSU members in good standing.
