What is your position at the University of Regina?

I work as the URSU Vice-President of External Affairs. I, mainly, organize the events for the students, staff, and members of the university.

What does your work week usually involve?

Weekly, I attend meetings with my team members, which are related to the plan for the coming week. We talk about what we will do and how things are going on. Other than that, we discuss concerns from students.

What year of study are you in currently and in which faculty are you enrolled?

Currently, this is my second year of a diploma in Computer Science. After that, I am planning to pursue my degree here.

What would you like to do as an occupation in the future?

I want to work as a Software Engineer. Nowadays, I learn new languages, tools, design patterns, and skills.

How will this position help you in that field in the future and right now?

This is a great chance for me to get the experience by enhancing my skills as a Vice President. I learn many things such as estimation, scheduling, communication, problem-solving, documentation, and risk management.

How does your work benefit the students of the University of Regina and its Federated Colleges? How does it benefit the community?

Well, this place helps to build the relationship between University and other colleges by organizing events, marketing, etc.

What do you like the most about your position?

I mostly love to socialize with everyone and engage in different kinds of activities.

What do you like the most at URSU?

I like the environment coupled with the staff members who are working hard to represent the best of URSU by solving student queries and developing events.

What have you learned during your time so far with URSU?

If I make a list, I learned a couple of things, but mainly, it is communication. It means how to talk professionally with younger people and elders. One more thing that I improve is budgeting, especially for events.
