Investigation and solving technical issues, renovations, fixing, repairments, and arrangements
Are you a student? If so, what year of study and what field?
No, I am not a student. (My wife is a student at U of R).
How will this job help you in that field in the future and right now?
It has been linked to my university major and occupational fields for about ten years (Civil Engineering). It is an opportunity because I can both work in my favorite field as well as experiencing an international work environment.
What do you like the most about your job?
I like the people and the colleagues I work with. I also like the friendly environment of my work and the respect each person keeps for the others. It has also been helpful with my English proficiency improvement as well.
What do you like most about working at URSU?
Friendly and respectful behavior, cooperation, and good understanding
What are the biggest challenges or obstacles?
I am not a native English speaker. Although I have improved so much, there are some situations I can’t interact with easily; however, my coworkers are understandable and help me be at ease.
How does your work benefit the students of the University of Regina and its Federated Colleges? How does it help the community?
The work I do is for the welfare of both students and my colleagues or other people around. Keeping everything ok and fixing it until people feel safe is usually a tricky deal.
I am happy to see that the community members come to me to ask for help or assistance most of the time, and I feel good when they trust me.
What have you learned during your time working with URSU?
Along with new technical matters related to my job, I have learned that a workplace can be as friendly as home, and your colleagues can be as good as family.
