What does your week usually involve in regards to work?

I normally have a long list of projects that are organized based on their priority. Some of those projects are time pressing, some others are ongoing, and others can hold until there is a little bit of extra time to work on them.

Are you a student? If so, what year of study and what field?

I am not a student anymore. I miss the environment but I don’t miss the stress lol.

How will this job help you in that field in the future and right now?

It helps me to keep my mind active and in a constant look of creativity. As long as I keep exercising my creative side, I’ll be able to solve the different graphic problems in a better way and create proposals in less time.

What do you like the most about your job?

The projects. Like any job, there are things that I am not a fan of working on, but the majority of the projects are very pleasant. Some of them are a good challenge to put out graphics and that I like.

What do you like most about working at URSU?

The environment and the staff. People might not believe it, but working at URSU is an amazing experience. The staff is always eager to know new people and welcome them to joining the big working party. Whenever there is a problem, all staff joins in with support, showing a high level of human values.

What are the biggest challenges or obstacles?

Every year, new students arrive with great new ideas and become URSU leaders. My challenge is to make sure that the different ideas get reflected graphically as desired. As for my biggest obstacle, I think it is, and will always be, trying to put aside my culture and personal beliefs and be open to new ways of thinking. I am 100% conscious that my world is not the same world as others. Living in an international country, I need to make sure that not only my personal life but also my work reflects that acceptance.

How does your work benefit the students of the University of Regina and its Federated Colleges? How does it benefit the community?

My work is a reflection of teamwork. The marketing department has the duty to inform the student body and everyone involved with URSU about everything that happens at the students’ union: services, initiatives, partnerships, and various information.

What have you learned during your time working with URSU?

I’ve learned that teamwork and communication make a big difference when executing a project. I’ve learned that great results, AKA a happy student, are way more important than individual recognition. If you are working at URSU just to have your pretty face on camera and have the student applause, then you are in the wrong place. URSU is like one big entity, nothing would be possible without the outstanding effort and great collaboration of the people who work here.
