A well-made, well-tailored suit can give one the confidence needed to enter the work world and excel after their university education is complete. When one is a student though the cost of a suit or business attire can be outweighed by the price of tuition, food, and rent. Therefore, URSU Threads was created to make sure no student stumbles during those first crucial steps into the working world.
From July 9-11 URSU gave away a variety of business attire to student for free. The items were located in the Riddell Centre at the University of Regina main campus, allowing students to browse at their leisure and find the perfect suit, dress, or accessory for an upcoming interview or other important occasion. This program would not be possible though without donations from community members, help from Dress for Success Regina, and the support of businesses like Moores Clothing.
It is this spirit of support that makes URSU excited to be one of the recipients of the donated professional clothing that will be gathered during this year’s Moores Suit Drive, on now through July 31st. Moore’s Clothing For Men is proud to support students and was the founding partner of the URSU Threads initiative, with their initial donations URSU has been able to help students look their best as they go for job interviews, go to conferences, or present a project. Their generosity has been reflected by the community as our inventory of items has grown as more donations come in from University staff, faculty, and other students!
We’ve seen Regina and the province of Saskatchewan show their support for students and now is the chance to help even more! Anyone who donates a suit at the Moore’s located at 921 Albert Street in Regina can get 50% off select items and extra 30% off select clearance.
