Following the University of Regina’s announcement that face-to-face classes have been discontinued for the remainder of the winter semester, URSU will continue to provide services and supports to membership as best we can. URSU will continue to operate with the minimal amount of staff required. Our hours and services will not change but we do ask that you use safer communication methods wherever possible. For example, we encourage you to email member.services@ursu.ca or call us at 306-586-8811 for all inquiries. All staff have been instructed to limit in-person meetings and switch to online meetings or conference calls where possible.
The URSU election will continue as scheduled, but URSU will not have physical ballot stations for this year’s general elections. Members are still able to cast their ballot electronically by with instructions available here: https://ursu.ca/2020/03/13/voting-just-got-better/.
URSU recognizes that this is a stressful time for students. Counselling services remain available for students experiencing emotional distress. myWellness (https://www.mystudentplan.ca/ursu/en/mywellness) is also available to supplement the services supplied by the University. myWellness is available at all hours in the day, in multiple languages and provides access to counselling that is appropriate for those of different cultural or religious backgrounds. We will also continue to do our best to keep you apprised of changes on campus and how they may affect you, but we strongly encourage you to follow the University of Regina’s own updates available here: https://www.uregina.ca/covid-19/
A separate update will be provided on The Owl’s Facebook page.
If you have any concerns or questions, please contact our Member Services desk via member.services@ursu.ca or 306-586-8811. Thanks for your patience. Let’s all keep calm and get through this together.
