Call for Nominations: March 1st (8:30AM) to March 8th (4:30PM)
Campaign Period: March 8th (~5:30PM) to March 16th (5:30PM)
All Candidates Forum: March 15th (12:00PM @ RC Multi Purpose Room)
Voting Period: March 17th (12:01AM) to March 18th (5:00PM)
Election Results: March 18th (~8:00PM)
New By-Election nomination packages may be picked up at the URSU Front Desk or downloaded online from the sidebar. Please forward any questions to the CRO, Tiffany Kearse, using the contact information from the sidebar.
URSU holds an annual General Election in accordance with the URSU Constitution to elect a new Executive, Executive of Council, Senate, and Board of Directors. Elections are open to all URSU members (All students with the exception of ESL students). Those interested in running for a position are to first pick up a nomination package (or download and print a copy from this site), fill out the required information, and submit it to URSU no later than 4:30PM CST, March 8th, 2010. All Nominees should attend the All Candidates Meeting (information posted in the nomination package) to learn if they qualify as well as to be briefed on the elections. Following the meeting, the Campaign Period will begin. An All Candidates Forum will be held on March 15th to allow students to become familiar with candidates and ask questions they may have. Campaign period ends on March 16th and voting will begin at 12:01AM March 17th until 5:00PM March 18th. Election results will be posted at approximately 8:00PM.
A call for nominations begins on March 1st and ends on March 8th at 4:30PM CST. During that time, students may nominate either themselves, or another student they deem suitable for an open position. The nomination package may be downloaded from this website at the side, or picked up at the URSU front desk. All nominations are due by March 8th at 4:30PM CST. Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
A campaign period for candidates will run during the above dates, starting ~5:30PM and ending 5:30PM. During this time, candidates may post posters advertising to students and promoting themselves. All campaign material MUST be taken down by the end of the campaign period. Material should abide by the URSU Poster Policy and be initialed by the CRO. Any material that violates the policies should be reported to the CRO using the contact information on the right.
An All Candidates Forum will be held in the Riddell Centre Multi Purpose Room at 12:00PM. This will give the student population an opportunity to ask any questions they may have to the candidates as well as to familiarize themselves with the candidates they will be voting for.
Voting will start at 12:01AM on March 17th and end at 5:00PM on March 18th. Voting stations will be located across campus in most buildings and at dedicated computer stations at the URSU Computer Lab for students wishing to vote on campus. Students are also able to vote at their own leisure by visiting UR Self-Service (http://uregina.ca) and logging in with their student ID number and PIN. Look for the URSU By-Elections 2010 link and follow the instructions.
Voting results will be announced via Facebook, Twitter, and the URSU Website (on this page) at approximately 8:00PM.
